Gitaristo Futura
2023Once upon a time the future was a place of infinite progress and optimism. Right Brain Records’ new compilation album aims to recapture that spirit. It’s called Gitaristo Futura and its theme is simple: We focus on the most familiar of instruments and ask, where will we go from here? This record includes original instrumental tracks by 13 guitarists from all over the Earth: Austria, Italy, Basque Country, England, Argentina, Tasmania and distant corners of North America. Some pieces are [...]So much time
2022“So much time” is the second solo album by Francesca Naibo. It’s a work about time, developed after the years of the pandemic emergency. The album is made of pieces where three voices are in dialogue: Naibo’s childhood voice, Naibo’s adulthood voice and the voice of her guitar. Naibo explains: “So much time is my second solo album and it comes two years after Namatoulee, released in 2020. During these two years (two very particular years) I took time to [...]- Guitarists José Dias and Francesca Naibo created a two-volume album based on their musical correspondence across a period of nearly one year (2020-2021). This is not merely a remote collaboration triggered by lockdown, but an intense process of mutual discovery, respect, and cooperation. Dias sent Naibo a set of solo improvisations to which she replied with her own and vice-versa. The album track list is organised chronologically, where each track is the response to the previous solo or group of solos. Both musicians agreed that there would [...]

- Extemporaneous creation, composition, group listening, gesture, open forms, expression of creative contemporaneity, improvisation, now music, collective breath: these are the keywords to approach listening to the latest project of BlueRing-Improvisers. For years, the Association has dedicated itself to artistic research, exploring ‘non-idiomatic’ improvisational practices, conduction, and written composition in order to create artistic activities in the field of music and theoretical research, always in a spontaneous and symbiotic dialogue with the visual arts. In order to widen its range of [...]
Opal
2022“Opal”, the third release of Maddalena Ghezzi’s “Minerals”, is a collaboration with guitarist Francesca Naibo. It sprouted from both musicians’ interests in composing for each other’s instruments, experimenting sonically and exploring the use of voice and language. Opal was recorded at Nitön, a sonic exploration lab in Northern Italy. The EP counts four tracks. Meadow and Confluence, respectively composed by Ghezzi and Naibo, were written for guitar and two voices and are inspired by feelings of belonging and enriching solitary [...]Namatoulee
